The
Women's Foundation is dedicated to
combating the socio-economic problems and discriminations that we face. Many
women whom we assist are destitute and have been abused by their husbands,
family or others or have been thrown out of their homes, harassed by employers,
raped, sold into prostitution and slavery or victimized by the practice of witch
hunting. On a broad scale, we strive to alleviate these problems by increasing
public awareness, providing opportunities for economic and social
self-development and by fostering social responsibility and self-reliance in
developing villages. We provide practical education, skill training, legal and
human right's education and free legal support. We also provide medical aids
like heart surgery to the under privileged people and undergo rescue to the
innocent victims of various violence.
To work toward the elimination of gender bias in laws, rules, and regulations; to support and provide women's equal participation at all levels of government and decision-making.
To promote gender sensitization.
To provide shelter, medical, and legal assistance to women and children who are victims of violence.
To deliver education and counseling services on human rights, women's empowerment, health, family planning, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
To strengthen local capacities to plan and implement cultural and environmentally appropriate development.
To enhance access to credit and service agencies, to promote local savings and credit programs.
To promote democracy by broadening the base of women's participation in public life.
To increase information exchange and program coordination between International non-government organisation's (INGO's), NGO's, and GO's who share our objectives.
